Teaching Strategies to Promote Motivation in SLA Learners: A Research Paper

I finished my first research paper titled ''Teaching Strategies to Promote Motivation in SLA Learner''. I thank Allah first and last. Then my instructor, Dr. AbdulAziz Al-Fageeh, guided me through this inspired journey. My research paper explores the most effective teaching strategies to promote and protect SLA learners' motivation. It is supported by academic sources and experts' experiences in the field. 

Abstract

This research paper is about the teaching strategies used by English teachers in SLA 

classrooms to promote SLA learners' motivation. 62 English teachers from different school 

grades administered and completed a questionnaire. The study investigated what the most 

effective teaching strategies to promote motivation. How often do the teachers use these 

strategies, and what challenges they face when trying to motivate SLA learners. The result 

showed that the most effective strategies are to provide a positive classroom atmosphere, 

clear instructions, and use a variety of teaching activities. These strategies were frequently 

used during the class. Also, the major challenge they faced was the lack of interest of SLA 

learners in the language. Moreover, the teachers have provided some solutions which are: 

using technology, avoiding corrections, providing positive feedback and encouragement, and 

real-life application of language.

Lecture seven: Reflection

  In this lecture, we discussed many aspects of second language acquisition. It was a valuable and rich lecture with its content. Those aspects are SLA theories, multiple perspectives in SLA, diversity in learners, language acquisition stages, language transfer, contrasts between L1 and L2, and the psychology of SLA.
